Our work

A brief introduction to the key aspects to the Money Advice Trust’s work.

A joined up strategy
Creating a national ‘joined up’ strategy for the development of money advice services in the UK.

The Common Financial Statement
Common Financial Statement is a basic tool in money advice. It shows the income and priority expenditure of the client and thus the money available for repayment of debt.

Debt advice
Free, independent money advice for people with debt problems - through National Debtline and Business Debtline. Alternatively, see our partners.

Training
Face-to-face and online training to develop the skills of money advisers and improve the effectiveness of money advice.

Information Hub
The Money Advice Trust’s online information hub brings together a wide range of information and statistics about issues related to debt, credit and money advice in the UK.

Policy
In drafting responses to consultation papers, we consult our partner agencies in the free-to-client money advice sector in order to achieve a consensus view.

Fundraising
Raising the money needed to improve the availability and quality of money advice to people in debt.

Research
Producing and commissioning research into issues related to debt, credit and money advice in the UK. Our priorities are informed by the consultation and dialogue we participate in with our stakeholders.
