Helpline Employee of the Year success for National Debtline

National Debtline’s Angela Clarke was announced as winner of the Helpline Awards 2016 Helpline Employee of the Year category, at the Helplines Partnership Annual Conference on Friday 4th November 2016.

Angela has been an Adviser at National Debtline for over eight years, and was recently promoted to Mentor. In 2015 Angela helped a total of 3,187 callers, whilst maintaining a very high level of quality of advice, and embodies the Trust’s values of being balanced, supportive, and innovative when dealing with clients, particularly vulnerable clients.

Angela’s colleagues have said that she has superb listening, analytical and communication skills, always taking care to give clients the time and space they need to get their points across, as well as often thinking outside of the box to find appropriate solutions. As a Mentor she is always ready to offer on the spot support and coaching to colleagues, receiving extremely positive feedback.

The Helpline Awards celebrate the improvements helplines have made to people’s wellbeing, highlight successes through use of technology, and recognise achievements of those helplines, teams and individuals who have responded most successfully to demands.

Joanna Elson, chief executive of the Money Advice Trust, the charity that runs National Debtline, said:

“I’m delighted that Angela’s work has been recognised by winning Helpline Employee of the Year – highlighting the fantastic work of teams at both National Debtline and Business Debtline in helping people to tackle their debts and manage their money with confidence.”

Joshua Parkes, Contact Centre Manager, said:

“Angela is a fantastic addition to the Mentor team. Not only delivering excellent advice to our clients but also providing supportive feedback to our advisers to help them facilitate our clients achieving the most appropriate outcome for their situation.  I’m pleased to say that appointing Angela as a Mentor was one of my biggest successes this year and National Debtline is all the better for it.”
