Small grants programme
Why do you award grants?
We have a small pot of money (£25,000 in 2011) to use for our small grant programme. Our grant programme aims to support organisations which will help us help people in the UK manage their debt. We use our grant programme to pay for our activities and other activities that will improve the money-advice sector. We do not have a set number of grants that we award each year. We are aiming to fund projects that are original and creative. We welcome joint applications from organisations which are working together, but there should be a lead organisation who will manage the grant.
We offer support for agencies that provide money advice and we will fund work which will improve the quality and amount of money advice available in the UK. We will also fund work which creates resources and information which we can share with other money-advice agencies. We are particularly interested in original and creative projects, and joint projects.
For example, we are interested in:
- developing new information and resources that we can share with others;
- testing support groups for clients or advisers; and
- working with people who are usually excluded from society.
(These are just examples and this is not a full list.)
We are willing to provide grants for single items, groups of items and projects.
Your projects should not repeat existing materials or work which has recently been carried out. You should check to see if someone else is already doing the work you are planning to carry out.
