The Money Advice Trust apoints a new Head of Training

The Money Advice Trust (MAT) - a charity delivering debt advice and high quality support including training to free-to-client money advisers across the UK - today announced that it had appointed Julie Smith as its new Head of Training.

Julie joins the Trust after a distinguished period of five years as Head of Training at The Suzy Lamplugh Trust and a spell as Interim Chief Executive (maternity cover) at the training charity Landmark Training.

Commenting on the appointment, Chief Executive Joanna Elson said 'I am delighted to welcome Julie to MAT at a key time in the life of the Trust's training team and our wiseradviser brand. The team work exceptionally hard to deliver - with our partners – over 5,000 training places a year to money advisers. The team has an exciting future, including mapping our training against the National Occupational Standards to open the door to learners accessing nationally recognised assessment and qualifications, ensuring that the blended training packages we offer are optimal, and exploring whether training options should include elements of generic financial advice. Julie brings a wealth of experience and skills to this important role’.

Julie Smith said, “I look forward to using the skills and lessons learnt from my previous roles to respond to the new opportunities and challenges facing MAT and the money advice sector.”-
